The Virgin del Rocío and the Gems of Southwestern Spain
Revel in the cultural, culinary and natural splendor of Southwestern, Spain. We start our visit in the Seville, the historic and lavish capital of Andalusia, where we’ll feast on local treats, enjoy flamenco and visit sites from Spain’s Muslim past and Catholic present. Then it’s off to the province of Huelva to join the colorful, yearly pilgrimage to Almonte, where pilgrims pay tribute to the Virgin del Rocío.
On our way to the Province of Cadiz, we’ll visit the National Park of Doñana. These wetlands are famous for being the mating and hatching grounds of 300 species of birds, including flamingos, cranes and eagles. From there it’s off to the beaches of el Puerto de Santa Maria and the City of Cadiz, topping off our daily excursions and fun in the sun with the finest of seafood meals. We conclude out trip in Jerez - the cradle of sherry wine and flamenco - where we’ll visit wineries and the Royal Equestrian School, celebrate at flamenco hotspots and lounge in some of Spain’s most beautiful plazas. |
