Jerez de la Frontera, in the Andalusian province of Cadiz, is not only the birthplace of sherry wine, but also the music and dance known as flamenco. Every year, the Jerez Festival presents 16 days of flamenco classes and performances by some of Spain’s most internationally renowned dancers and musicians. Festival season is flamenco at its finest, as well as Jerez at its finest. The city swells with international and local flamenco fans, who infuse every corner of the old town with a festive atmosphere.
Fly into Madrid for a small taste of the Spanish capital’s offerings, then travel to Jerez to enjoy traditional meals prepared by the city’s finest chefs and nightly flamenco performances in historic venues. With Jerez as our home base, you will become intimately acquainted with this ancient city, while also making day trips to nearby Seville, Cadiz and San Fernando, birth and resting place of flamenco legend Camaron de la Isla |
